I don’t know about you, but it is really easy for me to get distracted perusing all of the random goodness the Interwebs have to offer. Below are some of my faves from this week.
One // This weatherman kills me when he plays along with a computer glitch.
Two // Totally using this cheat sheet to learn my camera in manual mode! And along that line, getting some tips from two of my favorite sister bloggers, Merrick’s Art and Everyday Reading, on how to take your own photos with a tripod. Excuse my quality while I learn!
Three // Have you seen Maroon 5’s new video? I can’t imagine if this happened at my wedding. Although let’s be real, my boyfriend would be like, “Should I know them?”
Four // Do any of you watch Scandal? If you haven’t watched last night’s episode, DO NOT CLICK on this link. Major spoiler alert. If you have watched it, all I can say is… WOW.
Five // This is why I love living in Boston. People here have such pride for their city.
Have a great weekend! I’m off to visit my friend Lizzy in DC for a girls’ weekend and to see my goddaughter!
So I got up and went into the office this morning; even though I knew no one would be there, I just needed to get out of the house. I was going stir crazy! I wore the outfit below, but added snow boots (I didn’t want to wear them inside my apartment!). This sweater is huge and probably not the most flattering (I have a waist in there somewhere!), but it is so absurdly comfy that I don’t even care.

Also, for those of you who read my post on It’s a 10 Miracle Finishing Spray, this is what my hair looks like after I curl it with a regular 1″ barrel curling iron and spray the finishing spray.
Notice the empty office in the background? Did any of you experience something similar today?
Just a few snaps from today’s snow day in Boston! As I write this, we’re at 20.8 inches and counting downtown, and some areas outside of Boston got over 30 inches! We looked out the window earlier and saw a guy skiing down our street! Totally normal.
Beacon Hill in the snow is like stepping back in time.

4:30 on a snow day is wine time!
Did any of you have a snow day today? How did you spend it?
Part of what I want to do on this blog is to share my absolute favorite products. Some are low end, some are high end, but all of them will be products that I use regularly and love. This particular product happens to be right in the middle. Most of you have probably heard of the brand It’s a 10, specifically their Miracle Leave-In Product. I use this stuff after every shower and it’s one of the only things I’ll put in my hair since it gets weighed down so easily. Something I had never used until recently, however, is the It’s a 10 Miracle Finishing Spray.
I actually picked this stuff up because it was on sale for $10, which is pretty cheap for any of their products. I figured I would try it because the hair spray I was using when I curled my hair would leave it so weighted down. Well let me tell you, the Miracle Finishing Spray is worth its weight in gold. Not only does it smell incredible, it is so lightweight that my hair actually bounces after I spray it. It also holds my curls for 2-3 days. I would strongly recommend trying this out, especially if your hair tends to get weighed down very easily. It’s one of my favorites!
What is your favorite hair product? Have you ever tried It’s a 10?
On this Friday, where in Boston it has warmed up to a balmy 34 degrees, I’m suddenly re-inspired to make the most out of the rest of layering weather before sundresses and shorts take over. Below are some of my favorite picks and outfits I’d love to recreate.
Obviously I have a thing for camel right now (as I sit here, I’m wearing a camel cape). And those flares and peplum by Liz is one of my favorite looks right now.
Which look would you recreate?
Back in April, Ben and I took a week-long trip to San Francisco to stay with a family friend and explore the city. Neither of us had been, so everything we saw was breathtakingly beautiful and was amazing to see for the first time. Many more photos to come, but for now I’ll leave you with some beautiful pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge that I took while hiking at Sea Cliff.
Have you ever seen such amazing views?
I am so tired of shopping for winter clothing; as much as I love sweaters, if I have to buy one more gray or black one, I’ll scream. Unfortunately, spring won’t show up in Boston until at least April (in all likelihood closer to May), so I’m feeding my spring craving by looking for clothes that are still winter appropriate but in spring colors. Below I’ve linked some great things from my favorite stores, which all happen to be right next to my office. Trouble!

How are you preparing for spring?
One of Ben and my favorite places to go for a weekend away is Boca Raton, Florida. Ben’s family has a house there and we try to get down 3-4 times a year. It seems far, but it’s a quick flight from frigid Boston to warm and wonderful Boca. We are headed down in March and I am counting down the days. Here are some pictures from our last trip.
What is your favorite vacation spot?

I’ve been gone for a little while (read: almost a year), but I’m back and I’m going to start posting somewhat regularly. Even if no one ever reads this little corner of the Internet, at least I’ll know I stuck with it this time.
For the last couple years I’ve been getting really into beauty, skincare, etc. I’ve always worn makeup and taken care of my skin, but I have gotten into trying out new brands and taking bigger chances with my routine.
One of my favorite new skincare products is an exfoliating cleanser by Suki called Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser.
This cleanser almost looks like wet sugar right out of the jar, and it seems like it would be harsh, but with water it turned into a foamy scrub that smells like citrus and is ideal for waking you up in the morning. This is especially helpful on mornings that were preceded by nights of no sleep or too much red wine. It wakes you right up!
I first discovered this cleanser in my Birchbox, so I’ll link it up here. It’s reasonably priced for a good exfoliator considering that the cheap ones can rip your skin. If anyone tries it, let me know what you think!
Even though this blog is partially about Boston, the boyfriend and I also love traveling and take a lot of weekend trips. At the beginning of March, we went up to Camden, Maine for the weekend. Camden is a small town about 3.5 hours north of Boston. We stayed at a charming B&B called The Inns at Blackberry Common. I never thought I would be a B&B person, but I cannot say enough good things about this place. If you ever make a trip to Camden, stay there! The breakfast alone is worth it.
Even though it was still chilly (this was the Northeast in winter, after all), the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day to be outside. Camden is not a beach town, but it is right on the water, and it has the cutest restaurants and shops. There is also a small mountain overlooking the town, so we climbed to the top. This took us longer than expected as we were both clearly out of shape, but when we got to the top, the view from the summit was well worth the wait. It was probably one of the most gorgeous views I’ve ever seen and the pictures don’t do it justice.
Cappy’s. We had dinner here our first night – lobster mac n’ cheese, heavy on the lobster.
Up the mountain.
Understatement of the century.
View from the top. Pictures do not do it justice.
The boy relaxing and enjoying the view (err… recovering from the hike).
Much easier on the way down.
Rewarded ourselves with Bloody Marys at this seaside spot.
Nothing but blue skies.
New England… Famous for adorable lighthouses.
So serene. Take me back!
Obviously we loved it here and would come back in a heartbeat. We have a lot of trips planned this summer, so stay tuned for more travel pics!
